Menlo Park water pipe repaired after wasting gallons

A Menlo Park burst water pipe was repaired after it gushed thousands of litres of water on Wednesday afternoon.

The burst water pipe that was gushing litres of water for hours in Menlo Park on Wednesday afternoon, was repaired that night.

This after gallons of water went to waste down McKenzie and 11th streets when a main water pipe was accidentally burst around 13:00 by construction workers.

By 17:00 on Wednesday afternoon, the pipe was still not repaired by the council.

Ward 82 Councillor Siobhan Muller said the council repaired the damaged pipe on Wednesday night after 20:00.

“The water is not running on the road anymore and there is no more water wastage,” she said.

She said water supply had not been disrupted.
