Health MEC admitted into hospital after Tshwane visit

Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu was admitted into hospital while in a visit to Pretoria this week.

The Gauteng Health MEC, Qedani Mahlangu was admitted to hospital earlier this week after she complained about her health during a visit in Pretoria.

Spokesperson Steve Mabona said Mahlangu was recuperating at the George Mukhari Academic Hospital in Ga-Rankuwa and likely to be discharged soon.

He said the MEC was admitted on Wednesday afternoon after conducting site visits to different facilities in Pretoria as a build-up process to the Gauteng Government’s community outreach programme.

“She complained about her health just before a public meeting scheduled for 15:00 to be addressed by the Premier and the mayor of Tshwane,.”

Mahlangu was rushed to hospital and was admitted for observations and investigations to investigate her ill-health.

“After observations, her treating doctors are confident that she will be discharged home in due course. We wish to thank our health professionals for sterling work,” Mabona said.
