Parts of Valhalla without power
Thieves fled into the airforce base on Tuesday morning, after stealing cables, leaving Valhalla residents in the dark.
Parts of Valhalla were without power on Tuesday morning after overhead cables were stolen.
The thieves were seen fleeing into Zwartkop air force base around 02:00, said DA Tshwane electricity spokesperson councillor Ina Strydom.
“The investigators could not gain access as this is a military area. Power has been out since then,” Strydom said.
She said technicians were repairing the damaged cables but could not say when power would be restored.
“At this stage, the extent and cost of the damage is unknown. Only a few streets in Valhalla are affected,” she said.
