National championships for radio control cars
The national Champions of Gas powered Radio Control Car Racing.
The first leg of the national championships of Gas Powered Radio Control Car Racing was held at the International RC Venue called Trap.
The event started on Friday and ended on Sunday.
The event attracted SA’s most talented drivers.
Public relation officer of the South African Radio Drivers’ Association (Sarda), Brent Alexandra, said: “Gas powered radio racing control is an incredible fast paced and highly-skilled motor sport with cars reaching in excess of 100km.”
“It is a great spectacle to watch and is seeing major growth in South Africa,” said Alexandra.
Drivers participated in the GT Class, 200mm B-Main and 200mm and the 200mm A-main.
Sarda’s aim is to expose the sport more, especially for children, as it is a great way to learn hand-eye coordination, engineering principles and the experience of competing in a national sport.
