Cricket
After the Proteas’ poor start to the T20 World Cup in India, they can’t afford to lose another match in the group phase.
On Friday 25 March, they play the West Indies, which are still unbeaten in the series. The game will be a big test especially for the South African bowlers as Chris Gayle has been declared fit to play against them. The action will start at 16:00 on Friday afternoon.
Rugby
Rugby lovers will have to spend their time over this long weekend in front of the TV as the last two rounds of the Varsity Cup will be completed on Thursday, 24 March and Monday 28 March.
In both cases, all four games will be played in the Cape Town stadium. Tukkies from Pretoria will need to win both their games, while they will also hope that either the Pukke, Shimlas or UJ will lose both their final matches. This scenario will give Pote Human’s team the opportunity to slip in through the back door en route to the semi-finals.
Tuks play on Thursday at 13:00 against the Madibaz of Port Elizabeth, and against UCT at 12:45 on Monday.
The Bulls travel to Singapore this weekend, where they will be in action against the Sunwolfes in the fifth round of this year’s Super Rugby tournament. The match will be played on Saturday at 12:50 (SA time).
Athletics
Road runners in Pretoria and surrounds goes back to the north of the city this weekend, after last week’s successful Kollonade 3-in-1 race. On Saturday morning, it is the turn of Pretoria Police Marathon Club to present its Pretoria Bobbies 3-in-1 race. The race consists of a 21.1km half marathon, a 10km road race and a 5km fun run. The race starts and ends at the Wonderboom Junction. The half marathon starts at 05:30, the 10km at 05:40 and the 5km at 05:50.

Soccer
No big club soccer matches will be played over the Easter holidays. However, soccer lovers can look forward to two international matches between Bafana Bafana and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. The first game will be played on Saturday 26 March, at the Stade Omnisports de Limbe in Cameroon at 16:30 (SA time).
The two teams will come to South Africa to play against each other at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. This game will take place on Tuesday 29 March at 19:00.
