Nurses appreciated
Reach For A Dream gave a gesture of thanks to nurses on Nurses' Day.
Reach For A Dream and their new partner Ocean Basket hosted nurses in Montana, Pretoria, on Thursday to celebrate Nurses’ Day.
The nurses were treated to a three-course meal and received goodie bags to thank them for their outstanding work in the healthcare department.
“We choose to host nurses here instead of handing money to Reach For A Dream for one specific dream,” said Lourandi Kriel of Ocean Basket.
The foundation said it was important to acknowledge the healthcare professionals they worked with on a daily basis.
“The objective of our Nurses Day campaign is to commemorate this important day by thanking the nurses who assist us in identifying children in need,” said spokesperson Bronwyn Feldwick-Davis.
“They play a vital role in our dream operations and we value our relationships with all the hospital staff. We really want to acknowledge them for their hard work and dedication because they often go without any appreciation or thanks.”
She added: “Ocean Basket pulled out all the stops to make this day extra special for the nurses. We can’t thank them enough for their passionate support of our campaign.”
Grace Harding, Ocean Basket company leader, said: “We have always looked to add value to the ‘unseen’ in our communities – the people who so often go unrecognised. We believe in rewarding them; letting them know we care about them and thanking them for their dedication and hard work.”
With the generous donation given by Ocean Basket, Reach for a Dream said it hoped to inspire hope in the hardworking professionals who looked after the hundreds of children in the hospitals.
The Reach For A Dream project has been running for 25 years and is a proudly South African foundation with seven branches across the country.
