Provincial majorette championships held at Eldoraigne High School
Schools from various parts of Gauteng gathered at Eldoraigne High School on Saturday to compete in the Gauteng majorette and cheerleading championships.
Parents, pupils and teachers converged at Eldoraigne High School on Saturday for the annual Gauteng majorette and cheerleading championships.
More than 20 schools from various parts of Gauteng participated in this year’s provincial championships.
The winning schools would go on to represent the province in the national championships.
Chairman of the Gauteng Majorette and Cheerleading Association (GMCA) Allan Donaldson hailed the athletes for their dedication.
“To our dedicated and passionate athletes, thank you for the joy you bring us while we watch you perform,” he said.
“And especially thank you for demonstrating to us all, time and again, that you are all young ladies and young gentlemen of the highest calibre,” said Donaldson.
He also thanked the principals of the various schools for including majorettes and cheerleading in the curriculum.
