TMPD appoints new deputy chiefs

The TMPD hopes the new deputy chiefs will deliver a good service to the community.

Two newly appointed deputy chiefs took up their duties at the Tshwane metro police department (TMPD) recently.

Spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said the two were appointed on Friday.

“Jenny Malan was appointed as deputy chief of road policing and Rex Mahlaule as deputy chief of the specialised unit,” he said.

The specialised unit’s duties include the monitoring of freeways.

“The city is very proud to appoint them in these positions,” said Mahamba.

He said the positions were vacant for far too long.

“Our [TMPD] goal is to deliver a service to the community. We hope by appointing these chiefs permanently, the TMPD will be able to deliver better service.”

Tshwane mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa inducted the deputy chiefs.

“We hope they will deliver a service to the community without fear and doubt,” said Mahamba.
