DA leads the pack at midday, Friday

DA climbed the voting ladder on Friday midday and is still leading in the Tshwane metro.

The DA was leading at midday on Friday in Tshwane as the number of votes that have been counted in Gauteng has hit the 76% mark.

The DA has continued to lead the pack since the start of the vote counting and the party is now at 44.37% while the ANC is neck-and-neck with 41.21%. The EFF looks set to play the role of a kingmaker as it stands at 10.47% of the vote.

For any party to run the municipality, it needs at least 50% of the council to vote in its favour and as such a coalition government seems to be on the cards as things stand.

517 of the 732 districts’ results in and around the city have been counted.

The DA has also taken the lead in Johannesburg with 41.85% with the ANC hot on its heals with 41.64% and the EFF with 10.64%.
