DA talking to parties – Musi

The DA holds a rally in Pretoria to thank voters for their support in last week's local government elections.

Negotiations on a coalition government in the Tshwane are underway, DA leader Musi Maimane said in Pretoria on Tuesday.

He told thousands of supporters at a rally at Freedom Park that his party had already started talks with different political parties.

The event, which co-incided with Women’s Day,  was held to thank Tshwane voters for their support in last week’s local government elections that saw the DA defeating the ruling ANC in the metro.

The DA did not attain an outright win and needs a partnership with smaller parties to be able to govern the metro.

Maimane said Women’s Day could not be just be a simple holiday, but a day where the country should seek to achieve economic freedom.

He told the audience clad in blue that the women of the country has done him proud and that he saw them rising up in leadership.
