NEWSFLASH: Body with gunshot wounds found in the north of Pretoria

The police are investigating a murder case after a body was found with gunshot wounds on the side of a road in Hammanskraal.
The dead man has been identified but the police were withholding his name until his next of kin have been informed.

The 25-year-old’s body was discovered around 06:00 on Sunday in an overgrown area just off the road at Ratjiepan Village, near Temba.
Police spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said the deceased was shot several times in the upper body.

“Two used cartridges were found on the scene. It appeared that the killer tried to clean up evidence from the scene including getting rid of used cartridges. However, he unawarely (sic) missed two used cartridges,” said Moremi.

Residents heard gun shots at around 22:00 on Saturday night but were afraid to go out to investigate.
They only did so the following morning then alerted the police to their discovery.
The motive remains under investigation, and the police have called on anyone with information to contact the Crime Stop number: 10111.
