Ward 1 councilor, Elma Nel said that the outage affected Mountain View, Claremont, Booysens, Suiderberg and surrounds from 08:00 on Sunday.

The Tshwane metro said this was due to faulty feeder cables at the Gomsand substation. It did not indicate when the power would be restored.

It however, confirmed that technicians were attending to the problem.

Nel said that some residents had reported the outage and given the same reference number as Saturday’s.

That outage occurred yesterday around 10:00 and was later fixed.
