Next year’s learners’ online registration closing tonight

Parents who have not yet applied must urgently do so before midnight.

Online admissions for Gauteng learners will be closing on Friday night, the Gauteng education department said.

The department urged parents – whose children will be in grades 1 and 8 next year – who have not yet registered their children for next year’s academic year to do so before midnight.

Parents of children who will be in grades 1 and 8 must urgently log onto www.gdeadmissions.gov.za and apply before midnight.

No new applications will be processed in January 2018, as Gauteng schools are full.

Parents, who applied in May and whose children still have not been placed, should visit their district office or email the department on gdeinfo@gauteng.gov.za for urgent assistance.

There are 2 017 public schools that offer grade 1 and 8. According to the department, 402 of these schools received more applications than they can accommodate and will therefore not be available to parents to submit late applications.
