It is our right to practice our own religion
These dissenters are reminded that we live in a free, multi-cultural democracy where religious freedom and tolerance are guaranteed by our constitution.

As a resident of the Moot, I was utterly disgusted to read the article: “Dis toe nie ‘n Moskee” (Rekord Moot 17 November 2017).
It is inconceivable that under our democratic constitution, in this day and age, we still have people who unashamedly express such religious intolerance and fanaticism… and by implication, racism. These dissenters are reminded that we live in a free, multi-cultural democracy where religious freedom and tolerance are guaranteed by our constitution.
I am pleased to see that the DA councillor Elmarie Linde is of the opinion that every person has the right to practice their religion free from persecution.
