Temba, Hammanskraal police have called on local residents to help stop murders in the area.
Spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi this week said the police were concerned about the recent murders in the area.
“We find it unacceptable and have called [on] communities to support the police,” said Moremi.
The Temba police condemned the murders that spiked towards the end of last year.
The victims were dumped in the veld.
Moremi said the latest victims were three children found in a burning car earlier this year.
“We reiterate a call on all residents to work with the police in the fight against crime, and the creation of safer communities,” he said.
Moremi said the police recently launched a massive manhunt for the murderers after at least six mutilated bodies were found in the bush in separate incidents.

He said the Temba police management was concerned about the unrelenting rise in the murders that “only strong a partnership with all stakeholders could curb”.
On 2 January, a passerby discovered the charred remains of the three boys aged 12, four and three.
A 30-year-old woman had pointed an accusing finger at her boyfriend in the kidnapping and murder of the three, and the police said the 40-year-old hanged himself in his home in Mathibestad.
An inquest case was open and postmortems would be done.
In November, a woman’s body was found in the bush in Hammanskraal.
“Surely someone in the community knows something. We can only solve these cases if the community is ready to co-operate with us,” said Moremi.
On 22 October around 7:00, another body of a woman was found in the bush near Suurman, Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria.

“The half-naked body had a bullet wound in the upper body. It looks like she was killed elsewhere and transported to the scene where she was dumped,” said Moremi.
He said tyre tracks were visible next to the body.
The motive for the killing was unknown.
“The deceased is unknown and Temba SAPS anyone with information may call 012 717 9000 or 08600 10111.”
Investigations into the murders continue.
