Three suspects were arrested in Centurion on Saturday afternoon after trying to break into a vehicle at the Jean Crossing shopping centre.
The men were arrested at around 16:00 on Saturday after trying to gain access into a vehicle they were presumably planning to steal, according to Monitor Net spokesperson JP le Roux.
Le Roux said the suspects had been spotted by the security at the centre.
“The mall security with the assistance of Monitor Net made the arrest,” said Le Roux.
Stolen goods were recovered from inside the suspects’ vehicle.
“The vehicle was also recovered. No shots were fired,” said Le Roux.
The suspects were handed over to the Lyttelton police.
Meanwhile, the mall’s management said they were aware of the arrest but could not provide further comment as they were waiting on a full report, which would be made available on Monday.
