Pump attendants at a Garsfontein petrol station are receiving extra training after a second motorist fled without paying for fuel.
The latest incident at Engen Gerhaldo took place on Tuesday evening.
A video circulating on social media shows the driver of a Ford race away, with the fuel pipe still attached as a helpless pump attendant tries to stop him.
The driver left without paying for petrol worth R753.

Petrol station owner Gerhard Vorster said the pump attendant noticed the car was still idling while he filled up the tank.
“The Ford vehicle had no license plate in the front and we suspect a false number plate at the back,” said Vorster.
When the attendant grew suspicious and walked to the driver’s side, the driver sped away.
“A nearby police vehicle saw what happened and tried to chase the vehicle, but could not catch him,” said Vorster.
He said the garage is working closely with the police in investigating the crime.
A similar theft occurred last month when just over R400 worth of fuel was stolen, according to Vorster.
“Now we are training attendants to be more vigilant after certain hours in the evening,” said Vorster.
He said attendants will have to match the number plates of vehicles with their registration discs.
“If they do not match, then we will have to take steps including requesting motorists to pay first and then get their fuel,” said Vorster.
He said motorists might be becoming desperate given recent increases in fuel prices.
