Korean Food and Film festival held in Centurion

A range of food from the region was featured at the food market.

 

Hundreds of people from various countries descended on the Open Window Institute in Centurion on Saturday for the annual South Korean Food and Film Festival.

Kyungtae Kim explained that the festival, coordinated by the South Korean embassy, featured a range of activities including film screening (two Korean films), Korean food, fun games and wonderful experience, latern making, and Korean cocktails and beer.

He said a range of food from the region was featured at the food market.

“These includes Sauteed kimchi, grilled pork belly, fried tofu, and steamed rice, among the others,” he said.

South Korean ambassador to South Africa, Jong-dae Park as well as ambassador of Thailand Komate Kamalanavin graced the festival with their presence.

The food market had an impressive range of street food, serving everything from spicy fried chicken served with beer to skewers of marinated meat and vegetables.
