Ladies networking event held to encourage ‘building on yourself’
Anja Beek encouraged attendees to focus on planning their day and how to get the most success out of everything they did.
Hirsch’s Silver Lakes recently hosted their first monthly ladies networking event where business owners and representatives were invited to mingle, socialise and network together in an enclosed area in the beautiful showroom.
The guest speaker for the morning was Anja van Beek who is a talent consultant, leadership strategist, mentor and coach. Van Beek is an expert in coaching leaders and teams to manage behavioural change in the ever-changing business environment.
Her topic for the morning was “Build yourself a great story – what would your headline be?”

Van Beek started the talk by asking attendees to write down the headline to their story they would like one day hope to read, and how one could focus on positivity by letting go of what was draining them.
“She also mentioned that one should focus on their strengths and understanding the “why” in order to build a great story,” says Tsz Yan Lau, Public Relations Officer at Hirsch’s Silver Lakes.
“Anja was fantastic. She spoke on how one should be thankful and grateful every day and that is what Margaret Hirsch also encourages us to be by giving us a daily success planner.”
After the talk, Amukelani Mashele, owner of Amu Cakes and Margaret Hirsch Women in business achiever 2018 award runner up, was introduced to speak about her experience.
All the attendees then had 30 seconds to talk about their business and they happily stayed to mingle over a cup of cappuccino.
