Most parts of Soshanguve were without power on Monday morning due to cable theft.
Residents of blocks SS, R, T, V, W, X, KK and Y were in darkness on a cold, holiday Monday.
It was understood the cable theft took place between Soshanguve and Rietgat substations.

Tshwane metro’s spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said repairs were ongoing and assured residents that power would be restored.
“It is estimated that power will be restored by 20:00 tonight,” he said.
