Three people were arrested when metro police intercepted an allegedly hijacked vehicle in Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria this week.
“Tshwane metro police department K-9 unit officers managed to stop the vehicle and the three suspects who were inside the vehicle were arrested,” spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said.
The arrest followed after the officers received intel about the vehicle which was hijacked in Lotus Gardens on Monday.
“The suspects were also in possession of two firearms,” he said.
The three suspects were due to appear in court soon.

“TMPD is very serious about tackling crime and will continue to work very hard towards a crime-free society,” Mahamba said.
Community safety MMC alderman Karen Meyer welcomed the arrest and commended the K9-unit for their work.
“We are taking back the city from the criminals,” she said.
