A 33-year-old man appeared before the Pretoria Magistrate’s court on Tuesday after he had been arrested for being involved in a hit-and-run at a roadblock.
This follows after the man, along with his girlfriend (29), drove over a Moot CPF member during a routine roadblock on 7 June.
He was charged with attempted murder, negligent driving and leaving the accident scene.

The case was postponed for seven days, according to police spokesperson Captain Anton Breedt.
It was postponed for further investigation.
Breedt said the man’s girlfriend, who was in the vehicle with him, turned state witness.

The man and his girlfriend were arrested last Thursday.
The arrests came within less than a week after CPF member Pieter Vorster was injured.
The vehicle drove through the roadblock and hit Vorster in the process.
