Suspected Centurion drug dealer gives police the slip

“Police did manage to arrest three other suspects for various crimes.”

A suspected drug dealer managed to give the long arm of the law a slip during a stop and search operation in Centurion on Wednesday.

Tshwane metro police were conducting a day-long operation in Wierdabrug where the man fled the scene after they found marijuana on him, according to spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba.

Mahamba said the marijuana was seized.

“Police did manage to arrest three other suspects for various crimes,” he said.

“Officials recovered an unlicensed firearm as well as housebreaking implements and crystal meth.

“Those arrested are due in the Pretoria magistrate’s court on Friday.”

Tshwane community safety MMC Alderman Karen Meyer welcomed the arrests.

She reiterated the metro police were serious about combating crime in the metro.

“We vow to continue this fight in all areas and promise to work with other law enforcement urgencies and community at large to create a safer city for all.”
