NEWSFLASH: Motorist drives into Garsfontein Road accident scene killing two

The motorist is facing charges including culpable homicide.

Two men died on Garsfontein Road when they were hit by a car in the Welbekend area on Saturday around 18:40.

Police spokesperson Constable Munyadziwa Phungo said two cars had been involved in an accident when a local security guard stopped to help the injured.

Another vehicle ran them over killing the two men from the initial accident.

The security guard was left unharmed.

The motorist was immediately arrested on  charges of culpable homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Phungo.

“Two [injured] passengers were taken to hospital.”
