A 26-year-old man found in a classroom at a Daspoort school, west of Pretoria, has been arrested.
Hercules police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said the man had gained entry into the classroom through the roof on Sunday.
“The security guard on duty heard noises and went to investigate. When he made his way into the classroom, he found the suspect attempting to steal the school equipment,” he said.
The guard alerted the police and the suspect was arrested.
Msimango said the burglary at Daspoort Secondary School happened around 15:45.
“A case of burglary was opened at the Hercules police station.”
