Social Media users were left shocked when yet another pastor served his congregation dog meat.

This after the church, Heaven on Earth Centre Ministries shared disturbing photos of the incident on its Facebook page to celebrate its 1 year anniversary, on 23 June.
It is alleged the incident took place in Mafikeng.
This also left the National council of SPCA (NSPCA) frowning at the self-proclaimed pastor for his actions.

“We have been made aware of the dog that was slaughtered for religion over the weekend. Although we respect religion and culture, we do not condone the inhumane slaughter of any animal. This is not only within the context of this incident but for any animal that is used as a sacrifice,” said the NSPCA.
It said all animals were protected by the law and should be treated with kindness and compassion from birth until death.
The NSPCA said it would be investigating this matter, and engaging with other role players such as the South African Council of Churches to take the necessary action – “as we would in the case of any matter involving any animal that has suffered at the hands of humans”.
“Although we understand the outrage surrounding this incident, many other animals such as cattle, sheep and goats are slaughtered regularly in the name of religion and culture. The NSPCA cares about all animals and matters involving the suffering of any animal should be reported directly to us or the local SPCA.”

It has appealed to members of the public who may have witnessed the actual slaughter to come forward with information.
The NSPCA has assured people reporting that their identity will be protected.
