Police probe Plastic View double murder

'The body of the third victim aged 38 who was kidnapped and raped was this morning discovered by the community in Plastic View.'

Police have appealed to the public for information that could lead to the arrest of four suspects for double murder, rape, kidnapping and business robbery that occurred in Plastic View.

Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the gruesome murder left the SAPS and the community of Plastic View devastated.

“It is alleged a group of four unknown males arrived at a shebeen to buy beers.

“In the premises there were three ladies, the owner and two ladies who worked in the shebeen.”

Selepe said shortly after the suspects bought beers, they asked to buy additional beers and the owner of the shebeen informed them that the place was closed.

“They insisted on buying more beers. While in the process of serving them, one of the suspects took out a firearm and pointed it at the three ladies.”

She said the suspects took money, sexually assaulted one of the women and thereafter shot the owner of the shebeen, who was aged 43.

“The suspects then raped the third victim and took her away from the shebeen on foot.”

A search by detectives and the SAPS K9 Unit was instituted immediately with no success as the victim and suspects were not found.

Selepe said all the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murders are unknown at this stage.

Tshwane district commissioner Major General Daniel Mthombeni strongly condemned the horrific crime.

He assured the community that the police would work around the clock to ensure that those responsible were arrested and faced the full might of the law.

Police have launched a manhunt for the four suspects. Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation and arrest of the suspects is asked to contact 08600 10111 or 082 444 4354 to give information anonymously.
