NEWSFLASH: Two taken to hospital as building burns in CBD

A third person refused transportation to hospital, said emergency services.

Three people were treated for smoke inhalation on the scene, following a fire at a building in the Pretoria CBD on Tuesday afternoon.

Tshwane Emergency spokesperson Charles Mabaso said Paul Kruger and Jeff Masemola streets were cordoned off as a result.

“Two of them were transported to Tshwane District Hospital,” he said.

The third person refused transportation to hospital.

“The fire has been extinguished and we are busy with the ventilation of the building.”

Mabaso said the streets should be reopened soon.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
