Rietgat police nab 49 suspects at the weekend

The police extended their gratitude to the community members for their continued support in informing them about criminal activities.

Rietgat police arrested 49 suspects for the commission of various crimes over the weekend.

Police spokesman Captain Stephen Maluleka said these crimes included armed robbery, assault common, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possession of drugs, theft out of motor vehicle, driving without a driver’s licence, business robbery, theft, contravention of protection order, common assault, assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, pointing of firearm, burglary at residential premises, warrant of arrest, and drinking in public.

Rietgat station commander, Brigadier Ramakamakama Kekana, lauded his officers for putting in extra efforts and hours to ensure that wanted suspects were apprehended and charged.

Kekana extended his gratitude to the community members for their continued support in informing the police about criminal activities and the whereabouts of wanted suspects in the precinct.

All arrested suspects will soon appear in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court.
