A local model Mirriam Ngomani was injured in an altercation at the Times Square casino during the early hours of Thursday.
Ngomani was with her fiancé Tobais Zehetleitner at the time.
The casino confirmed on Friday that a woman was injured when an altercation broke out between the couple and other people at the entrance of the casino.
“Paramedics tended to an injured woman at the onsite clinic,” said Time Square general manager Brett Hoppe in a press statement.
“Security followed protocol and video footage reveals that Time Square close protection officers reacted immediately,” said Hoppe.
“At least seven officers intervened to stop the fight.”
“We are still reviewing all the CCTV footage for our internal investigation, but we vehemently refute the version of the incident as previously reported,” said Hoppe.
“We are supporting SAPS in their continuing investigation.”
This follows media reports of an alleged racial attack against the model and her fiancé.
Provincial police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo could not confirm the incident.
Masondo told Rekord he was still awaiting the case number before he could comment on the incident.
It could also not be confirmed whether the altercation was racially motivated.
Neither Ngomani nor Zehetleitner could be reached for comment.
