NEWSFLASH: 6-year-old boy airlifted after Centurion car crash
The child was underneath the car when paramedics arrived at the scene.

A six-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after the car he and his mother were travelling crashed into a fast food outlet on Saturday afternoon.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said paramedics were dispatched at 15:09.
It was believed the mother lost control of the vehicle on the corner of Tiaan van Niekerk and Ruimte road in Wierda Park, driving into the outlet’s drive-through.
“The car came to rest against a pillar,” said Herbst.
He said the child was in a critical condition and had sustained traumatic injuries to the head and chest.
“The child was underneath the car when paramedics arrived at the scene, so they had to use specialised equipment to lift the car and pull him out,” he said.
“He was stabilised on the scene with advanced life support care and a medical helicopter was called in to airlift him to hospital.”
Herbst said the mother had sustained moderate injuries, but also required advanced life support intervention to stabilise her.
She was transported by ambulance to hospital.
