NEWSFLASH: Two dead in west accident
Jaws of life used to extract a passenger from the vehicle.

Two people died when the car they were travelling in smashed into a tree in Attridgeville in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The accident happened shortly after midnight on Mahunde Street, according to Best Care paramedics spokesperson Xander Loubser.
“The male driver was declared dead on the scene by paramedics,” he said.
He said the woman passenger was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be removed using Jaws of Life hydraulic rescue tools by Tshwane emergency services.

“She was in a critical condition, having sustained critical head injuries and fractured limbs.”
Upon removal from the wreck, the woman went into cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated.
“We revived the patient with 10 minutes of resuscitation.”
Loubser said the patient was then transported to the Kalaphong hospital where she went into cardiac arrest again and died.
The exact cause of the accident is subject to police investigation.
