
Pretoria Central police have made 38 arrests in operations over the weekend.
The arrests were for various crimes including theft, fraud, assault, reckless and negligent driving, the possession of drugs, according to police spokesperson Constable Thabang Nkumise.
“One of the major arrests was on the corner of Lillian Ngoyi and Johannes Ramokgoase streets,” he said.
“Two men were arrested for the possession of cellphones believed to have been stolen in a burglary.”

Nkumise said two more suspects were arrested following a swift response from police in Sunnyside.
“The two broke into a car which was parked on corner Visagie and Kgosi Mampuru streets. They took laptops and other valuable items before they were tracked down in Sunnyside. The two suspects are charged with theft out of a motor vehicle.”
