Elderly Moot man attacked and stabbed in garden

The man was transported to a nearby hospital.

An elderly man from the Moot was attacked and stabbed in his garden on Saturday afternoon.

Kilnerpark Security spokesperson Ancelize van der Kooi said their reaction officers received a call at 12:22 to attend to an incident in 28th Avenue in Villieria.

Van der Kooi said the elderly man was in his garden when he noticed that there was an intruder in the yard.

“The suspect attacked him. He was stabbed in his arm as he tried to defend himself,” she said.

Van der Kooi said the suspect fled the scene.

Medi-Edge, a non-profit organisation, said the man was transported to a nearby hospital.

ER24, Kilnerpark Security, Medi-Edge, Netcare 911 and the Villieria police were on the scene.
