North man hijacked by ‘car buyers’
Two men and a woman got into the victim's car for a test drive.
A man for Soshanguve Block P in the north of Pretoria was hijacked and robbed on Wednesday evening by two men and a woman who pretended to be interested in buying his car.
The man was also robbed of his two cellphones and about R10 100 in cash, according to Rietgat Police Captain Stephen Maluleka.
“The victim got a call from two men earlier in the day who said they wanted to buy his car,” he said.
They asked to meet him outside the Father Smangaliso Mkhatshwa centre.

At the centre, the two men accompanied by a woman got into his car with him for a “test drive”.
They, however, forced him at gunpoint to stop at another vehicle.
Here, they tied him up and searched his pockets.
“They took two cellphones, a Capitec bank card and FNB bank card; they demanded the pins which he gave them,” said Maluleka.
Maluleka said they then drove and withdrew R3 200 and R6 900 from the two bank cards.
They subsequently drove him to Rooiwal, where they dropped him off before driving away.

“The public must avoid isolated places for business engagements where money or valuable properties are involved,” Maluleka warned.
