Democratic Alliance (DA) leader in Gauteng John Moody has welcomed the upgrade to the sludge treatment facility at the Rooiwal waste water treatment plant.
The party leaders was on an oversight visit to the plant on Thursday, 5 September.
“Today the DA undertook an oversight inspection to assess the progress made in addressing the recurring problem of sewage spillage, which resulted in polluted water to residents of Hammanskraal” said Moody.
“Rooiwal has been experiencing numerous challenges since 2006 largely due to the lack of maintenance under the previous ANC-led administration.”
Moody said the plant was overworked.
