Two men arrested after east farm robbery

“The police on Saturday night acted on a tip off and successfully followed the information that led them to the arrest of two foreign national men at Kanana informal settlement.”

Two men aged 25 were recently arrested in Welbekend following a business robbery on a farm in Kameelzynkraal, east of Pretoria.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Tsietsi Lamola said the robbery took place at the beginning of this month.

“According to the information available at this stage, it is alleged that a security guard was attacked and robbed at gunpoint in the early hours of Thursday, 5 September, on a farm in Kameelzynkraal,” he said.

“The police on Saturday night, acted on a tip-off and successfully followed the information that led them to the arrest of two foreign national men at Kanana informal settlement.”

He said the two men were found to be in the country illegally and preliminary investigations found that the duo matched the descriptions of the suspects in the business robbery.

They are expected to appear in court in this week, on charges under the immigration act and business robbery.
