A man was arrested this week, for allegedly dealing in drugs in the Moot.
The 20-year-old was arrested on Thursday, in Vygie Road, Eersterust, said police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo.
“The police received a tip off about the suspect,” he said.

“We were able to make the arrest thanks to a caller who wanted to remain anonymous. The person was able to give a brief description of the suspect.”
Following the call, police went to the location and found a man matching the description of the caller.
“The suspect tried to flee but was quickly apprehended,” he said.

Shibambo said upon searching the man, police found several packets of drugs suspected to be nyaope and dagga stashed in the suspect’s pockets.
“The drugs were seized and the suspect was arrested,” he said.
The Eersterust police acting station commander Captain Moses Mokwana thanked the “anonymous hero” who alerted the police about the drug dealing.
