A 51-year-old motorist was shot and injured during a robbery in Olievenhoutbosch on Thursday.

A 51-year-old motorist was shot and injured during a robbery in Olievenhoutbosch on Thursday.
The incident happened at around 10:30 on the Samrand road on-ramp to the N1.
The man was recovering in hospital, according to Olievenhoutbosch police spokesperson Constable Ulrika van Dyk.
“He was travelling in a silver Mercedes Benz when the four robbers in another car barricaded his way,” said Van Dyk.
“Two robbers opened fire and the victim was struck on his upper body.
“An undisclosed amount of money was then taken from him.”
Van Dyk said the four robbers fled the scene and the police were still searching for them.

“Police are investigating a case of armed robbery and attempted murder.”
