Menlyn hosts wine tasting show
"The wine show is always fun and offers something for every wine-lover."
Tops at Spar wine show hosted a wine tasting at Menlyn Park Shopping Centre on Friday.
Owner and Producer Andrew Douglas said, this was the show’s third appearance in Pretoria after a break in 2018.
“The wine show is always fun and offers something for every wine-lover, it is the place to stock up on old favorites and make new discovering,” he said.
CEO of TOPS at SPAR Wine Show Debbie Combrink said they do the show in seven cities around the country and Pretoria was the fifth host city after Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.

“This is our fifth show and we are here in Pretoria. We giving people an opportunity to learn about wine, educate them about wine in a fun and relaxed environment.”
She added the event is the largest try-and-buy show.
“You pay R185, you get your free tasting glass and free unlimited tasting around the floor. They is also wine theaters (sic) that you can attend to learn about parts of wine.”
Combrink said what they are trying to achieve is bring the winelands to the people who do not have the luxury of living in Western Cape.

“A lot of these farms that are here, unless you have physically been to their wine farms they are not available in shops and you would never experience those wines.”
Combrick said the show has been an all round success.
