Five nabbed for east business burglary
Police reacted swiftly to a burglary report at a tyre workshop in Bapsfontein on Saturday night.
The Welbekend police arrested five men for business burglary and possession of housebreaking equipment on Sunday morning.
The five men aged between 24 and 45, were arrested at the intersection of the R50 and R25 roads in Bapsfontein, said police spokesperson Sergeant Tsietsi Lamola.
“Police reacted swiftly following a burglary at a tyre workshop in Bapsfontein on Saturday night. Five suspects were then arrested in the early hours of Sunday while travelling in a Toyota Quantum that had no seats,” Lamola said.
Acting Welbekend police station commander Captain Makgalong Makuwa applauded the members for the good work done.

“People should know their surroundings and their neighbours to eliminate criminal elements in their areas” he said.
The police are investigating a case of burglary at business premises.
Another seven suspects were arrested at the weekend for crimes including armed robbery, common robbery, theft and driving while under the influence of liquor.
