UPDATE: Bronkhorstspruit magistrate murder case continues
Victor Mabunda was gunned down in the driveway as he arrived home from work.

The trial of the men accused of the murder of a Bronkhorstspruit magistrate is underway in the North Gauteng high court.
Thomo Ngoato, Paulos Fourie and Thato Maringa appeared in the court on Monday for the murder of Victor Mabunda in his driveway as he arrived home in January last year.
Mabunda was expected to hand down judgment in a case in which Ngoato was accused of smuggling drugs into Baviaanspoort prison.
Ngoato and Fourie were wardens at the prison while Maringa was an inmate.
Maringa was implicated in seven other cases, including an armed robbery and murder in Modimolle, Limpopo.
Another man who was arrested in July, on the same charges, was released from police custody due to a lack of evidence.
It was alleged that prosecutors at the Cullinan magistrate’s court, with whom Mabunda was handling cases got death threats after his killing.
Mabunda had been a Cullinan magistrate since 2000, and known for his firm stance on the law.
The trial was expected to last until 25 October.
