Hercules police station’s landlines have been down for more than a week, due to cable theft and are yet to be replaced.

Hercules police station’s landlines have been down for more than a week, due to cable theft and are yet to be replaced.
As a stop-gap measure, the Hercules CPF has sponsored a cellphone for the station. Residents are urged to keep the following number on hand in case of an emergency: 079-695-9692.
“Our lines being down is a big problem for us,” said spokesperson for the station Captain Bonginkosi Msimango.
“Our community depends on us. But when they try to call us, they can’t get through and it’s frustrating for them and us.”

He provided the following phone numbers for the various policing sectors:
• Sector 1 and 2 – 071-675-6453
• Sector 3 – 071-675-6456
• Sector 4 – 071-675-6458
If callers were unable to get through or in cases of severe emergencies, the following station members can be contacted:
• Acting station commander Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Nkadimeng – 082-820-6318.
• Head of visible policing Captain Riaan Groenewald – 082-686-4086.
Residents were also encouraged to phone the toll-free numbers 10111, 112 or 107 if all else failed.
