UPDATE: Where you can get a water tanker in your area

The water situation in Pretoria has reached crisis level with some areas being without water due to empty reservoirs.

The lack of water due to empty reservoirs has seen the City of Tshwane deploy water tankers in various affected areas.

Rand Water on Thursday implemented restrictions to all meters which has seen many parts of Pretoria’s taps run dry.

The percentage reduction of water was between 40 and 50 percent as Rand Water’s reservoirs were still below 20%.

As a contingency plan water trucks have been sent to different areas and will be available until 21:00 and again from 08:00 tomorrow.
