Akasia police are searching for nine men who robbed a liquor store in the area on Friday morning.
The robbery took place at the store in Dorfling Street around 09:00, according to police spokesperson Constable Lindiwe Mdluli.
“The owner of the business was inside the store when one of the men entered,” Mdluli said.
“The man pointed a firearm at the owner and the eight remaining suspects entered the store.”
Mdluli said the men proceeded to rob the store of cash, liquor and cigarettes among other items.
“The men then fled the scene,” she said.
“No shots were fired and no one was injured. A case of business robbery was opened.”
