Police tracking north robbers
“The robbers threatened the guard with their firearms, forcing him to hand two bags over which contained an undisclosed amount of cash."
Akasia police confirmed that three armed men robbed a store at a local shopping centre north of Pretoria this afternoon.
According to police spokesperson Captain Matthews Nkoadi, the robbers approached a security guard who was busy collecting money from a store in the centre shortly before 16:00.
“The armed robbers forced the guard to hand over two bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash,” said Nkoadi.
“They also took his service pistol.”

Nkoadi said the robbers fled the scene in a white single cab bakkie, believed to be a Ford Ranger, with the number plate CV 09 RH GP.
“As they fled, they shot at the guard’s security vehicle,” continued Nkoadi.
“No one was injured in the incident however.”
The public is urged to call 10111 if they spot the getaway vehicle.
