North residents urged to use water sparingly as resevoir runs dry

The Wonderboom reservoir was said to be at a low of four percent affecting areas such as Wonderboom South and Reitfontein.

Residents of Wonderboom South, Reitfontein and other high lying areas will be without water on Sunday, as the reservoir hit a low.

Ward councillor Elmarie Linde said water at the Wonderboom reservoir was at four percent.

Linde urged residents to use water sparingly.

“Do not water your gardens or fill your pools,” she said.

In October, Rand Water implemented restrictions to all meters which has seen days of no water in some areas across Tshwane.

The reduction was between 40 and 50 percent.

“Let us all consider each other by saving water,” Linde said.

Rekord could not get hold of Tshwane utility services MMC Abel Tau for more information.
