A 66-year-old man was brutally attacked on a farm in Hartbeespoort on Monday.
Hartbeespoort dam police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Pelonomi Makau said a case of house robbery was opened.
“The victim was attacked by two unknown suspects on his farm in Rietfontein in the area of Hartbeespoort dam, on Monday morning, at 02:00.
“It is alleged that the victim was asleep when the suspects woke him up and demanded money. They allegedly cut off a part of his right ear with a sharp object before taking his hunting rifle from his safe,” she said.

Makau said a fridge, cellphone and an undisclosed amount of cash were also taken.
“The victim was admitted in hospital in a serious condition. The suspects are still at large and no arrest were made. Investigations are ongoing.”
