Parts of the west left with dry taps

A team was currently busy isolating the area in order to effect the repair.

Residents in the west of Pretoria were left without water after a pipe burst.

The pipe burst on the corner of Deel and Marina streets on Friday, said local ward councillor whose ward was affected, Frik van Wyk.

He said a team was currently busy isolating the area in order to effect the repair.

It was not yet clear exactly when water supply would be restored.

“The leaks are caused by old infrastructure,” he said.

“As soon as you fix one part of the pipe, it will burst on another spot and the metro simply do not have enough funds to fix all of the pipes in Tshwane.”
