An attempted murder docket was opened and said to be investigated by police after one person was stabbed when a verbal altercation turned physical in the east of Pretoria on Friday.
“The case will be investigated against the suspect by the Garsfontein police,” spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo said.
He explained three people were waiting for their customers in a removals truck when they were approached by two men.
The altercation was said to have ensued from there.
“The situation escalated and the men started to fight. One of the two suspects then stabbed the driver with a sharp object,” he said.

He [the driver] was understood to have been stabbed twice in the upper body.
“The suspects then fled the scene,” he said.
Masondo added it was through the assistance of the police’s airwing, members of the community, security companies and other police members that one of the suspects – in his 20s – was arrested.
“The second suspect is still at large and the police are still on the scene looking for him.”
